Lapsed Maintenance Policy

If you were given a warning message about trying to run a newer version than your maintenance is paid through it's likely because of one of the following reasons.

Case 1 - You are current on your maintenance

Your maintenance is still valid but you previously had a version installed before 9/18/2012 which did not have the new registration routines built into it. In this case you can use the Register Online button on the splash screen to reregister the software using your login name (email) and password. If you do not remember your password you can have the system email it to you.

Additionally in future years when you do renew your maintenance you will have to reregister your software once in order to update the registration code with the new maintenance paid through date.

Case 2 - You are not current on your maintenance

If you are running a version of our software that is newer than what your maintenance paid through is valid for then you will not be able to register it and you will get the red "Created by AcroPlot Evaluation Version" watermarks across your PDF files.

This is easy to check by logging into your account on our site and checking the "MAINT PAID THROUGH" columns in your products. If on the Help->About in our Software the build date is after the "MAINT PAID THROUGH" date in your account than the software is newer than the version you are paid to use.

In this case you can log into your account in the upper right of our site and purchase another year of maintenance. When you purchase one of our products you are entitled to 1 year of support and maintenance (new versions) from the purchase date.

The other option you have is to uninstall the newer version and log into your account and download and install the version which you are entitled to. PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MUST UNINSTALL THE NEWER VERSION BEFORE REINSTALLING AN OLDER VERSION.

After logging into your account in the upper right of our site on the Maintenance Tab you will find a download link to the right of each software which you have purchased that will allow you to download the latest version that you are legally entitled to. Of coarse we do not provide support for newer versions of AutoCAD and Windows though if you are running an older version. We can also only provide limited support of coarse for any problems in old versions.

CADzations' Standard Maintenance Policy

When you purchase one of our products you are entitled to 1 year of support and maintenance (new versions) from the purchase date.

Beyond the first year you will have to purchase additional years of support and maintenance at a typical cost of 30% of the list price.

In the future if you are past due on maintenance you may also have to purchase the back maintenance in order to make your maintenance current.

This has been our standard maintenance policy since we started the company in 2001. For many years we did not strictly enforce the policy so many users received free upgrades even after their first year. But we will not be able to stay in business by providing free software forever so the maintenance is not strictly enforced.
