We apologize for the delay but we are still wrapping up the new release to support AutoCAD 2018. While the AutoCAD 2018 support is complete we still need a day or two to finish up some more items on our AcroPlot Matrix so we hope to release a new build on March 30th.
March, 21, 2017
On March 21, 2017 Autodesk released AutoCAD 2018 and we can expect that the vertical products will be released in the coming months.
We are in the final stages of testing our AcroPlot Software with the actual release version of AutoCAD 2018 and expect to post a new build on March 23, 2017.
With the release of AutoCAD 2018 Autodesk once again modified the AutoCAD DWG format. In short that means that if you save your drawings as AutoCAD 2018 format they will not be able to be opened by anyone using AutoCAD 2017 or older or by anyone using non Autodesk software.
For AcroPlot users this means we will be able to support conversion of files using the AutoCAD 2018 format if you are using the full version of AutoCAD 2018 with a build of AcroPlot after March 23, 2018. The only difference is you might notice a slight delay while we start AutoCAD in the background to obtain the layout list information from the files.
For those of you using AutoCAD LT or other software it typically takes several months for the CAD File Format Toolkits that we use for our direct conversion to be updated. During this time users without the full version of AutoCAD will not be able to use AcroPlot to do a conversion of the newer AutoCAD DWG format files. You will still be able to convert any 2017 or prior DWG format files.
