Page Labels New in AcroPlot 2025

New in AcroPlot 2025 we are pleased to announce that we have added the ability to automatically use the Bookmark for the PDF Page Label shown in the Thumbnails Pane of the PDF Document.  This continues on our 20 plus year history of providing one of the best tools for CAD users to automate the creation of their PDF files.

 

Today many agencies are requiring the PDF Page Label to match the drawing name or the bookmark name so we listened to our users and automated this feature also.

 

Page Labels also known as Logical Page Numbers were introduced into the PDF Specifications to allow ranges of pages to have labels which more accurately reflect how a published book would be.  So the Table of Contents might be numbered like i, ii, iii and then the main book numbered like 1, 2, 3, 4 where 1 is actually the 5th page in the PDF file.

 

In the CAD world a drawing submittal might have drawings like A-001, A-002, A-003.

 

In order to have the Page Labels Created you must use our AcroPlot Pro or AcroPlot Jr. software as the bookmarks and page labels are not created as output to PDF Printer Drivers.  Using our software you can customize the bookmark and the page label text exactly how you want it to display.

 

Printing through most PDF Printer Drivers the thumbnails pane will just be the number in the PDF Page.

 

Using AutoCAD's Publish Command will produce Page Labels although not how most users would want them displayed so you would get the page number in the PDF Document followed by the Filename-Layoutname so:

[1] Filename-Layout1
[2] Filename-Layout2
[3] Filename-Model.

 

Creating your PDF file through our AcroPlot Pro or AcroPlot Jr. software you can customize it ontvhe Bookmarks Tab to use just the filename, just the layoutname, just a titleblock atrribute, or any combination of the above.  This means that with our AcroPlot software can create your PDF Page Labels to be something like:

A-001
A-002

A-003.
